If you manage or coach a youth sports team that will host an upcoming outdoor tournament, it's important to spend some time gathering a variety of supplies that will come in handy over the course of this event. One thing to think about is a portable canopy, which you can usually rent at any rental center that carries tents and other similar types of gear.

At an outdoor sports tournament, a canopy rental can come in handy in a number of different ways. You may even wish to rent a few of these devices and position them around the venue — for example, if you're hosting a softball or baseball tournament, you might have a canopy positioned behind each team's bench area. Here are three ways to use your rented canopy.

Hydration Area

It's important for young athletes to stay hydrated while they take part in sports, especially when the conditions are hot. You'll want to set up a large water jug so that your athletes can continuously refill their water bottles throughout the day, as well as provide a cooler filled with bottled sports drinks. You can establish this hydration area under your rented canopy. It will not only provide a source of shade for your athletes when they stop to get a drink, but its shade can also keep the water and other drinks from heating up too quickly.

Cool-Down Area

Another good use for your rented canopy during a sports tournament is to create a cool-down area. Children who play sports in hot conditions can get overheated and feel sick, so it's important for them to seek shade between games. Many youth sports facilities lack shade, so you can make your own with a rented canopy. You can also add one or more large fans to this space to further increase your athletes' comfort. They can relax in this space between games to stay cool.

Trainer Area

Unfortunately, children who play sports can sustain different sorts of injuries. If your team has an athletic trainer who treats players' injuries, it's ideal to give them a dedicated space in which to work. They could set up their equipment beneath a rented canopy, including their treatment table and the supplies that they need for dealing with various ailments. The canopy would not only provide shade for the trainer and the athlete but also offer some degree of privacy during the treatment. Contact a local canopy rental center to learn more about what sizes and options are available.
